When Big Hero 6 rolled out into theaters, Brayden couldn’t WAIT to go! In fact, we saw it twice because both he and Kenley loved it so much. They saw the previews on tv saying it would be out last week, and believe you me, I was at Target on Tuesday with a copy in my hands. We decided to have a little more fun to celebrate the DVD release of Big Hero 6.
Baymax is my newest favorite animated character, so I made these cute Baymax snack bowls for the kids.
What you will need:
- white bowls
- black permanent marker
Preheat your oven to 350*. Then, carefully draw Baymax’s face (two circles connected by a line–easiest ever!) on the bowl with a black permanent marker.
After filling in the eyes very carefully, pop the bowls in the oven for 30 minutes to let the marker set. Once they are done in the oven, allow them to cool completely (about 30 minutes or so) then they are ready to be filled with a snack!
I made this white chocolate covered cereal for the kids and they absolutely loved it! Here’s how:
Melt 1/2 of a package of white almond bark in a microwave safe bowl. Melt in 30 second increments to prevent the chocolate from burning. Melt until smooth.
When the chocolate is smooth and melted completely, gently stir in the cereal making sure to get it well coated.
While the chocolate is still melted, add in some sprinkles if you wish! Then, allow the mix to cool for about 30 minutes. (see below for entire recipe!)
Kenley and I made the snack mix in the morning, and waited (not so patiently!) for Brayden to get home from school so she could show him what we did! After lunch, I loaded up their bowls and put in Big Hero 6. They couldn’t wait to watch it again. It’s so hilarious to listen to them as the movie was playing. And yes, Kenley was still in her jammies after lunch. This cold weather will do that to you! For these kiddos, nothing is better than being snuggled up on the couch with a movie and a snack!
Are your kids dragging you to Target to pick up Big Hero 6? We love any excuse for a good movie afternoon/night! How do you do movie nights in your house?
