The last few weeks have been nothing short of a whirlwind. Harvest (with no rain/weather delays!), my quick trip to NYC, fall photo sessions, blog posts, website content writing, field trips, and keeping everyone on task has me feeling slightly worn out My adrenaline seems to be powering me through, and it’s all GOOD things that are taking up my time and energy.
I think that 3 years ago, I would have crumbled with this much on my schedule. I was struggling with anxiety and sleep, and every little thing felt like too much. Fast forward to now and I am in am much different place. I am saying yes to things that spark my creative energy and to things that will make memories with my kids. Yes to spending time with my family and yes to savoring this season. Yes to riding in the combine or tractor with my husband and knowing that the laundry and dishes will always be there. I’m being inspired in lots of ways, writing more, reading more, and focusing on what fuels my tank.
With learning to say yes to things that fill my tank, I am also getting better at saying no. I have a better handle on what I can manage, especially this time of year when Brandon is working long days. I have been soaking up time with the kids and focusing on being intentional for them. They had a combined field trip this week that I went on, and we had a lot of fun. They are learning so much at school and doing really well– and I think we have finally found our rhythm.
