It’s FRIDAY! This week was another busy one at our house (hence the absence of posting) but Brandon has been home and we have been tackling some things around the house.
– Brandon started building our headboard, after promising me for nearly a year that he would. It’s looking awesome, and we decided to whitewash it to give it a weathered finish. That is my project for the weekend, so hopefully sometime next week we can move it to our room. Here’s my inspiration for the whitewashed look– we’ll see how well I can execute it!
– My sister and I are going to see Hunter Hayes in concert tonight! I LOVED him when he opened for Carrie Underwood, and I can’t wait to see him again tonight, along with Dan + Shay. I am hoping the freezing rain in the forecast waits until we get home.
– I have stared putting the Christmas decorations up. Usually, I wait until after Thanksgiving, but this year the bug hit me early! I have one of two trees up, so I am thinking about having it all done before next weekend. It’s so fun decorating our new home. Pictures to come!
– Kenley is PACI FREE. You guys. I can’t even tell you how much I dreaded this, and so far, it’s been just fine. Last weekend, when Sheana was visiting, Kenley misplaced her paci. She ended up going to bed without it, and we just went with it. Lately, she had been leaving it all over the house- resulting in a massive meltdown at bed time. So far, so good. She has asked for it, and we just tell her she’s a big girl now. She’s even been reading in bed before she goes to sleep, and that seems to distract her. It’s definitely something we wanted to break her from, but it comes with the stark revelation that she is no longer my baby girl. Why is there always a conflicting emotion?!
-Brayden continues to do really well at school and is learning SO much. His little brain lately seems like such a sponge, like he can’t get enough. He knows how to write part of his name (Bray and the S since he is one of two Brayden’s!) and he writes it on almost everything. I can’t get over how much he has learned just since August! His favorite thing to do lately is draw and color, and cut things out to hang on the fridge. I should also tell you that my fridge isn’t big enough for all of his creations! I will also say that I LOVE 5 YEAR OLDS. So far, my favorite.
How was your week? Fun weekend plans as we prepare for Thanksgiving?
