We moved almost 2 months ago, and slowly but surely I will be blogging my way through most of it. The master bedroom is as finished as it will be until we build the headboard. Still… waiting… on… the… headboard. All of the lumber is here, I just need my handyman to make it come to life!
I never really loved the master bedroom at the old house. That was before I started getting addicted to reading blogs and subscribing to HGTV magazine, and it just never really came together. It doesn’t help that I am the worst interior decorator EVER. I was inspired by this photo on Pinterest, and knew right away what paint colors I wanted for our room.
Paint is Balmy Seas and Gentle Rain by Behr. The Balmy Seas is the wall at the head of our bed, and Gentle Rain is on the other three walls.
bedding: Target // pillow: HomeGoods // outside throw pillows: Overstock
My refurbished dresser fits in here perfectly, and it is just what I envisioned! The tray above was found at a vintage market for $6, and I love having all of my perfume in one place.
This is all from Hobby Lobby and was in our bedroom in the old house. I am glad I kept it simple so that it could move along with us and still be used.
One of my very favorite parts of this room is the floating bookshelf. I would need an entire wall of these to fill my collection, but I love having a few books that I need to read just waiting for me next to the bed.
Mirrors from Target.
curtains: West Elm
I am so, so pleased with the turnout of this room! It definitely has a modern feel that I love, and it was budget friendly, as the dresser was a DIY project, the bedding was bedding we already had, and paint is ALWAYS one of the cheapest ways to change up a room!
The next time you see this space, we will have a headboard! I can’t WAIT!
