The last part of my Preparing our Home for the Holidays series consists of our dining/living room, and letting the kids participate. Kenley is all about decorating anything (except for walls so far, thank goodness) and she’s been so excited to start bringing up the Christmas stuff.
Normally, we put our Christmas stuff out on Thanksgiving weekend, but this year, I decided to start a little earlier. I bought a new table runner for the dining room table and got the perfect candle to add to the center of the table. The Gingerbread scent from Thymes is my new favorite, combining everything I love about the holidays.
The kids’ favorite part of the Gingerbread items from Thymes is by far the ornament sachet. I hung it on the small tree in the breezeway room so that the kids can see it and smell it.
Kenley smells it almost every night before she goes to bed. When we put up the other big tree this week, the ornament will come in the living room, so she says.
My Christmas decor is a good mix of subtle things, like this table runner, to bigger items like porcelain snowmen and fun printables. I love the simplicity of this candle as the centerpiece on the dining room table. My style isn’t overwhelming or too kitchsy, and it has to be warm and inviting. There is nothing better than a festive home for the holidays!
Even the bathroom gets a dose of holiday cheer with the Gingerbread lotion and hand wash.
My goal this week is to finish my holiday decorating so we have time to enjoy our Thanksgiving festivities! Thanks to Thymes, my home already smells festive, now it’s tying it all together for a cohesive holiday look. Right now, Thymes is offering a free Thymes Sample Set (a sample set of 14 fragrances) with any purchase of $25 or more. Just use the promo code TRADITION5 at checkout! It’s #nevertooearly to start decorating and shopping for great holiday gifts.
