Love doesn’t always look like romantic dates, the right thing said at the exact right time, or public displays of affection. It doesn’t always look like gorgeous bouquets, expensive jewelry, or surprises.
Love looks like a sweet bouquet of flowers for no reason at all.
Love looks like an empty sink of dishes you didn’t have to wash.
Love looks like a reassuring hug at the end of a long day.
Love looks like shoveling the sidewalk so the kids can at least get to the shed to burn off energy.
Love is movie nights when the kids go to bed.
Love sounds like belly laughs coming from the other room.
Love sounds like “I’m so proud of you.”
Love is the sound of the Keurig making a cup before you are out of bed.
Love is taking the kids potty in a public place.
Love is knowing when to bring pizza home for dinner.
Love is working towards a common goal, no matter how hard it is.
Love is being in it for the long haul, being able to forgive, and being an encourager. I am so lucky to have this kind of love in my life!
