In my quest to keep things interesting around here in the food department, I decided to make the kids a fun treat to celebrate the end of summer. I know, it doesn’t seem like something to celebrate, but we had an amazing summer! As sad as I am to have the kids going back to school, I want to make their last week and a half home with me fun. I decided to make them a fun little treat incorporating some of the Post cereals I stocked up on for back to school, and I plan on using this snack recipe throughout the school year.
It’s easy to whip up, and it’s a fun way for kids to snack on cereal. I plan on sending one or two pieces as a surprise treat in Brayden’s lunch once in a while, too!
First, line a dish/pan with wax paper.
Melt the white chocolate according to the package directions in the microwave or over a double boiler.
When the chocolate is melted and smooth, pour into the wax paper lined pan. Spread evenly.
Sprinkle the cereal over the top of the white chocolate, pressing it down lightly to be sure it sticks to the chocolate.
Let set. For faster results, place in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
Break apart and enjoy!
Post Consumer Brands has something for the whole family and they are budget friendly. My back to school shopping wasn’t terrible this year, but over the course of the school year, feeding these two endlessly hungry kids is definitely something that is at the front of my mind. Post cereals aren’t just for breakfast, making them a value buy and stretching my dollar just a bit further.
Look for Post cereals at your local Walmart while you are school shopping– and stock up!
