We are having a pretty incredible summer so far, and it’s safe to say that it may be my favorite one yet. The kids are at fun ages, we are able to pick up and go, but we have also spent quite a bit of time just hanging out at home. To kick things up a notch, I surprised the kids with a fun dessert– White Chocolate Marshmallow Fondue. It was a fun surprise (my sister will agree, it was delish) and it was a simple, at home activity that took just a little prep and reaped a TON of fun!
1/4-1/2 cup of heavy cream
2 bars white baking chocolate
1 tsp vanilla
2 cups mini marshmallows
Add the cream and white chocolate to a fondue pot on the lowest setting (warm). Remember to stir constantly or the cream will cook too much and turn into caramel. Add the marshmallows and vanilla and continue to stir.
When it is completely melted, you are ready for fondue! Just a tip– I left my fondue pot on warm and stirred frequently just so the cream wouldn’t overcook. You can also just turn off.
I started by grabbing some Keebler Fudge Stripe Cookies, Keebler Chips Deluxe Rainbow cookies, Rice Krispies cereal, and Jet-Puffed Marshmallows at Target. I also got some fresh strawberries and bananas, because they are the kids’ favorites.
I prepped my fondue dippers before I started making the fondue. I cut up the strawberries & bananas, and left the Keebler Fudge Stripes cookies, Keebler Chips Deluxe Rainbow cookies whole for easier dipping. I cut the Rice Krispies treats (made with the cereal and Jet-Puffed Marshmallows) into bite size pieces that fit onto the fondue forks. I arranged it all on a platter and it didn’t take long at all. The kids loved it, and I loved the minimal prep!
I decided before summer even started that I was going to savor it more, enjoy it more, and be more creative in my activities with the kids. This was definitely a hit and something we will do again! They had so much fun choosing what to dip next and finding their favorite combinations. It would be great for parties and last minuteg gatherings/cookouts as well. Plus, it was minimal prep and easy to clean up, which is always a win in my book.
This was made even sweeter by some awesome savings! Don’t miss these offers at Target and have your very own impromtu fondue treat!
